Automatic Champions League Qualification – Check

Domestic Cup Final – Check

Europa League Win – Check

All in all not a bad treble given a new manager was brought in with just 6 weeks to go before the start of the domestic season. Each and every pre-season objective has been achieved.

Yes there have been bumps in the road such as a 6-0 defeat by Man City or the 4-0 thrashing handed out by Bournemouth but they are just as we described, bumps. Overall it’s been a fine opening stint by the former banker.

Yet there have been chants of “we want Sarri out” at points during the campaign so just what do the Stamford Bridge faithful want from their side on the pitch?

“Sarriball” clearly isn’t the desire of many in blue, their flirting glances are being directed towards club legend Frank Lampard. A relative novice in the management stakes. This is all just standard Chelsea FC.

Ancelotti – won the double, Conte – the title, Di Matteo – the Champions League and the famous Interim Benitez left with the Europa. All of these managers were moved on from SW6 in double quick time.

One thing that has to be admired is the way Sarri has conducted himself despite all of the ongoing speculation, yes there have been slight moments that could be considered outbursts but we believe these are nothing more than passion.

Take a moment to reflect back of the former Napoli manager’s reaction when he’s finally presented with the 1st winner’s medal of his career, truly touching and allows you to see exactly what it means to Maurizio.

There is rumoured to be strong interest back in his native Italy from the mighty Juventus who are looking to replace the departing Max Allegri and if Sarri decided to call time on his own terms you really couldn’t blame him.

His recent comment of “in my opinion, I deserve to stay at Chelsea but my opinion is not enough” shows it is likely a new man will be in the hot seat come the start of the 2019/20 season.

With a lengthy transfer ban looming and the impending departure of talisman Eden Hazard, it really must be a case of be careful what you wish for.
